Apsley House,149 Piccadilly, Belgravia, Hyde Park Corner, London W1J 7NT

Apsley House is an impressive regency property, home to the Dukes of Wellington. It has been beautifully preserved and allows visitors to view some of the very finest regency interiors still around today. In fact, very little has been changed in the house since the first Duke of Wellington’s famous victory at Waterloo in 1815.

The art collection within the gallery of the house is worth seeking out; it contains some of the finest paintings, including works by Velazquez and
Rubens. The house itself is a work of art, with high glittering ceilings and gilded detailing at every turn. Particularly noteworthy are the
sculptures and pieces of artwork constructed in gold and silver, gifted to the first Duke of Wellington at the height of his fame and success.

Apsley House is run and maintained by the National Trust, who take great pride in preserving it to the highest possible standard. The house is open to the general public from 11am to 4pm from Wednesday to Sunday. Tickets cost £8.30 for adults and £5 for children: concession ticket prices are available.
