Dance ‘til Dawn at the Aldwych Theatre, Covent Garden, London WC2B
- by CityWest Residential
With Strictly Come Dancing in full swing, (excuse the pun), the Aldwych Theatre in Covent Garden, plays host to a dazzling production of Dance ’til Dawn, starring two of Strictly’s favourite professional dancers and former world champions - Vincent Simone and Flavia Caccace. Absent from the BBC’s popular show, they are, instead, wowing lovers of musical theatre on the West End Stage.
Their sensational new show runs from 23rd October. For 10 weeks. Catch this dynamic duo, and a talented cast of performers, in this exhilarating fusion of musical, traditional ballroom and Latin routines.
Dance ’til Dawn is a playful, tongue-in-cheek romantic comedy; a beautifully choreographed ‘whodunnit' set in the Golden Age of 1940’s Hollywood. During the film shoot, the character of leading man Bobby Burns is murdered and a romance ensues between leading lady, Sadie Struss, and her lover Tony DeLuca (Vincent Simone), only to find Tony is being framed for the murder of Bobby Burns.
As the tale unfolds, using breathtaking dance routines and faultless footwork as the dialogue, iconic songs are played by a full live band to underpin the story, including classics such as, Stand by Me, Moon River and Feeling Good.
Flavia and Vincent consistently show amazing chemistry in every performance they give and Dance ’til Dawn is no exception. Their exquisite timing and danced storytelling is simply breathtaking.
The story is light, entertaining and full of feel good comedy, set against a backdrop of imaginative, eye-catching sets by Morgan Large, stunning costumes, singing and dancing. Directed and co choreographed by talented Karen Bruce.
