Serpentine Boating Lake, Hyde Park, Serpentine Road, London W2 2UH

Summer is fast approaching, and there is no better place to spend long leisurely days in the sun than at the Serpentine Boating Lake. With 110 pedalos and rowing boats on the lake, which is naturally fed by its own pure underwater spring supply, you can take to the water, row yourself around the lake, and relax. If you would prefer someone else to do the hard work then you can also take a guided ride on the UK’s first Solar shuttle, an innovative new vessel which glides silently across the lake amongst the row boats and pedalos powered only by the sun.

Boating on the Serpentine is available to the public from April to October 31st each year. Boating facilities are available from 10am until sunset (which varies between 4pm and 8pm, depending on the time of year).

The lake also features a small swimming area: the Serpentine swimming club (based at the Serpentine Lido which is a part of the lake) is the oldest swimming club in Britain, and an ideal place for swimmers of all ages and abilities: it even features a small paddling pool for children.
