Located in the City of Westminster, Pimlico is an elegant and exquisite area of central London. Rich and prosperous, the area is well known for its grand garden squares and iconic Regency architecture.

Pimlico is also home to a number of churches, historic buildings, and other cultural attractions. Arguably the most impressive church in the area is St Barnabas Church, located on St Barnabas Street. 

Designed by Thomas Cundy, the church was built in 1846. Widely recognised as one of the most beautiful churches in the capital, St Barnabas oozes beautiful gothic charm. 

Now a Grade I listed building, the church is filled with impressive architecture and intricate works of art, including important works by Bodley, Comper, Kempe, and Travers. 

The church has a number of regular services taking place throughout the week, including a Sung Mass held each Sunday at 9.30am and Low Mass, which takes place each Wednesday at 12.45pm. A number of other services and events are held at various points of the year in order to mark significant holy days.  

During many of the church’s services, the music is performed by the world renowned blind concert organist, David Aprahamian Liddle, who has played there since 1985. 

Closely linked to the church, St Barnabas Church of England Primary School has educated children since 1847, welcoming children from Christian families as well as those from other faiths and religious backgrounds.
