Cloth House, 47 Berwick Street, Soho, London, W1F 8SJ

The Cloth House is one of the most popular haberdashers in Berwick Street, a street laden with fabric shops. However, what sets the Cloth House apart from the rest is its commitment to style and good taste. Set over two floors, many customers enter the Cloth House without any idea what they’re shopping for; they’re just drawn in by the beautiful window displays and the tactile products inside.

Once inside, you’ll find bolts of beautiful fabrics, huge spools of cotton and silk threads, and gorgeous buttons in an incredible range of colours, shapes, and sizes. The fabrics available are sourced from all over the world, and from well-known British retailers such as Cath Kidston and Laura Ashley too.

Certainly, this is not the cheapest fabric shop in Berwick street, but it is definitely the prettiest and the most welcoming. They take pride in being ethically minded, working directly with local textile traders and artisans, choosing not to sell leather or suede and only using recycled and recyclable packaging.

If you’re new to home sewing or trying a new product then the knowledgeable staff are always happy and ready to help. The store opens from 9.30am-6pm on Monday to Friday and from 10am-6pm on Saturdays. The store is closed on Sundays and bank holiday Mondays.
