Soho Literary Festival in Soho, London W1D

Soho is known as an energetic, creative and lively area of London. Boasting a wealth of unique independent boutiques, exciting restaurants, bars and clubs, as well as countless nightlife spots where you can enjoy unforgettable performances. Soho has a reputation as the centre for media and creative agencies as well as the capital’s entertainment hub.

As a result, Soho hosts a number of events throughout the year including the Soho Literary festival, at the Soho Theatre in Dean Street – providing visitors the chance to meet their literary heroes.

Recognised as one of the UK’s most intimate festivals, the event brings together journalists, historians, free thinkers and novelists for the annual four-day festival. Attracting a host of special guests and influential figures from the world of literature, the festival features a number of varied performances and Q&A sessions as well as thought provoking group workshops.

Highlights from previous festivals include a poignant tribute to illustrator and Children’s Laureate, Quentin Blake, appearances from Rupert Everett and Sir David Hare, as well as a host of other famous faces discussing topical issues.

This unique event is held at the iconic Soho Theatre and attracts visitors from far and wide who descend on Soho to enjoy four days of literature themed events in the heart of the capital.

Featuring over 36 eclectic events that take place across three different rooms in the theatre, including a bar where regular signings take place, the festival has become a firm fixture in the area’s social calendar.

The festival, which takes place at the end of September, is supported by Arts Council England and has proved instrumental in reinforcing Soho’s vibrant cultural scene.
