St John’s Wood Church Summer Fayre, London NW8
- by CityWest Residential
Located in North West London, St John’s Wood is not only one of London’s most affluent neighbourhoods, attracting city professionals, creatives and medics, it is a place to relax and breathe. The tree lined streets as wide and airy as its stunning, detached Victorian villas are tall.
When 19th century developers started building St John’s Wood, they radically changed the style of housing, introducing a new look detached London villa. A style so sought after, the area has become the 5th most expensive postcode in the capital. Paparazzi-shy celebrities live securely behind walled, gated properties, a well heeled stone’s throw from a smart-meets -boho chic line-up of independent boutiques, high-end chain stores and irresistible delis.
Relatively quiet compared to other London districts, with excellent schools, convenient amenities and sense of community, St John’s Wood provides the perfect location to raise a family.
This close knit area seems to bring out the very best in generous locals who volunteer their time in organising and attending charity events, including the hugely popular Summer Fayre; a key event in St John’s Wood social calendar.
This year’s Summer fayre takes place on 5th and 6th June, in St John’s Wood Church Gardens, where previous years have seen over 12,000 local residents and supporters come to enjoy the sunshine and a variety of entertainment, for children (big and little!) there are fun fair rides, including a 50 foot high mega slide, mini train, bungee trampoline, walking on water and a chair-o-plane.
For adults there are around 40 stalls selling everything from cashmere scarves, clothes, books, toys, shoes, jewellery to delicious food.
