Festival of Ukrainian Culture, St James Theatre, 12 Palace St, Victoria, London SW1E 5JA

The St James Theatre is actually two separate theatres (one with 350 seats and another with 100 seats) which regularly host unique and humorous theatrical events. This September Kiev’s National Academic Theatre of Russian Drama ‘Lesya Ukrainka’ will use the theatre to present a festival of Ukrainian culture: a cycle of four separate plays that will represent and celebrate the very different aspects of life in the Ukraine. The four plays will be performed exclusively in Russian, although they will also be live-dubbed in English for the benefit of any non-Russian speakers.

Tickets for each of the four performances start from £10. The festival will run from the 8th to the 19th September.

As part of the festival of Ukrainian culture, there will also be two free film screenings, showcasing two of Ukraine’s most celebrated and important films, and a free photography exhibition entitled Ukrainian Culture Today. This exhibition will be held in the bar and in the theatre’s front of house area.
