Victoria & Albert Museum in Victoria, London SW7

Located in the heart of London, Victoria is fittingly named after Queen Victoria. The area is home to an extensive range of places to enjoy with all of the family - shops, cafes, restaurants and attractions.

As well as being close to some of London’s best known landmarks, Victoria is also home to a number of world famous attractions that have put it on the map as a place to experience and enjoy a wealth of entertainment.

One of the area’s most famous attractions is the Victoria and Albert Museum. Also known as the V&A, this iconic landmark attraction is the world’s largest museum of decorative arts and design, offering visitors the opportunity to experience and explore a permanent collection of exciting exhibitions, free of charge, throughout the year.

With its diverse collections that represent human creativity, past and present, the museum houses a number of galleries that contain surviving pieces from historic periods that go as far back as the Medieval Renaissance.

Other galleries in the museum include a stunning jewellery gallery, a British gallery that illustrates the history of Britain through art and design, as well as a host of temporary and permanent exhibitions.

The museum has plenty of facilities for families, including the main café, as well as the garden café, which makes the perfect place to stop and soak up the sunshine in the summer months. Meals in both cafes are half price for children under 10. There’s also a Lunchroom for guests to enjoy their own packed lunches!

The Victoria and Albert Museum is one of the capital’s most visited tourist hotspots, attracting thousands of visitors each year. The museum is open daily from 10am until 5.45 pm. On a Friday the opening hours are 10am until 10pm. All tickets are free of charge.
