The Palace is also open to the public for viewing on a number of other selected dates throughout the year, offering visitors an exclusive insight into The Royal Family’s most precious and treasured possessions, only selected pieces from the Royal Collection are available to view at any one time These are rotated, so if you’ve already visited the palace, it’s always worth another trip!

During the summer, visitors can also watch magnificent Changing of the Guard ceremony, which takes place in the forecourt of the palace everyday at 11:30am. During the winter months, this world famous ceremony takes place every other day. The ceremony is free to watch and lasts approximately 45 minutes.

Built in 1705 and located between Hyde Park, Green Park and St James’s Park, Buckingham Palace has 775 rooms. These include 19 State rooms, 52 Royal and guest bedrooms, 188 staff bedrooms, 92 offices and 78 bathrooms and enjoys 40 acres of exquisite landscaped garden.

If you wish to visit the State Rooms, Palace Gardens and Ballroom, there is an entry fee. Tickets are limited and sell quickly, so if you want to explore the world of the British Royal Family, it’s recommended that you book in advance!
